A prefacelift 2.8 with 131k and what sounds like a titanium silver hardtop for £2,400

Or an automatic 3.0i Sport that needs an MOT but has a private reg and has only done 80k for £2,500 - yes I know it says £3k but she will take £2.5k (trust me) 🤣

Either one could have easily made the #35 slot but I'm behaving myself so fill your boots 🤣

I guess I'm dense. I'm not really sure what you're point is....
Just wanted to make people aware of a couple of cars that are for sale which seem to represent great value - the more that are owned by forum members the better as far as I'm concerned.

Wouldn't you agree?

A point ! Since when was that a criteria for posting on here. 😄
£2500 for one of the last 3.0l is nuts.

The Z3 3.0 fits into the K band and not the L band for VED due to its age.. Its still expensive but not as much as an old Z4 3.0 where you are into £700 plus per annum! If after 2006

  • Definition: Band K covers cars with a CO2 emission figure of 201 to 225 g/km.
  • Exception: It also includes cars that have a CO2 emission figure over 225g/km but were registered before 23 March 2006.
  • Cost (2025/26): For the 2025/2026 financial year, the 12-month rate for Band K is £430.

Yes my 3 litre was £430 last/this year. I only tax it when I need to so it costs around £40 per month (or a sandwich for two at any restaurant).

It's a lot cheaper to tax than my 2025 Ford Focus (£620), so everything's expensive not just old cars.

I'd not realised the rates had gone up that much for the pre-facelift E85 cars - what a joke.

Fortunately my 18i has CO2 emissions of 159 g/km so is only £265 - probably in part due to the stop / start technology which I immediately disable whenever I drive the car.

I'm not sure what emissions the Z3 2.0 has but because it was registered before 2001 it only costs £360 otherwise I suspect that would be up at £700

ABSOLUTELY! I thought, with the title, it was perhaps commentary on the current value of our machines.
